3rd Provincial Congress Celebration
September 6 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

In late summer 1775, delegates from around North Carolina assembled in Hillsborough in defiance of British orders. Their mission was to continue the transition from royal colony to independent state by adopting practical measures that would help them reach their goal of greater autonomy.
To commemorate this momentous occasion, we will bring the Congress back to Hillsborough through a series of engaging programs, including a dramatization of the Congress, academic speakers, and a colonial market.
